New management team to lead the way
after 60 years of success

Toronto, ON (July 13, 2020) – Mario Bernardini, company Chairman, is pleased to announce a new management team, headed up by newly appointed President Adam Bernardini.

The Toronto-based electrical contractor this year marks 60 years as an industry leader in the Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) field.

Mario, said the new management team taps into the company’s deeply talented and experienced professionals to successfully lead the company forward in a changing and highly competitive business environment.“I believe that a business which does not rejuvenate itself is doomed to failure.”

President Adam Bernardini, who most recently served as Vice President Construction, said the vision for the business is simple – “We will continue to work hard to maintain and enhance Ampere’s reputation for excellence achieved over the past six decades.  In growing our business, we never lose sight of the importance of relationships, and in delivering on our promises.

“Our clients know that our word is our bond, and they trust that we will complete projects on time and on budget.”

The new management team includes four Vice Presidents and HR/Office Manager who will head up specific business areas:

Ampere, founded in 1959 by E. (Bob) Kornhauser, provides a range of electrical services in the ICI field including new construction, communications, tenant fit-up, technical services and special projects.

• Mt. Dennis Station, the western terminus of the Eglinton Crosstown, built on the site of the

Ampere is working with EllisDon as a design-assist partner for electrical, communications and systems in this 150,000-square-foot mass timber, higher education building.

Mass timber – large structural panels, posts, and beams glued under pressure or nailed together in layers, with the wood’s grain stacked perpendicular for extra strength – is considered an innovative building material that is a significant part of a climate change solution.

The six-storey zero-carbon structure will house a range of classrooms, labs, offices and collaboration spaces.

Ampere experts designed distribution with 27.6 KV high-voltage incoming service, natural gas generators (200 KW), LED lighting and complete lighting controls with acuity n-light solution, and life safety structured cable security system.

EQ Bank Tower

Ampere was selected as the electrical contractor for the new EQ Bank Tower, a joint venture between First Gulf and HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) that will see 466,000 sf of LEED®-Gold office space added to this up and coming business node in Toronto’s Downtown East.

This area will be thriving with business opportunities within the next 10 years. The EQ Bank Tower is the next step in a massive development of Toronto’s East side which includes close to one million sf of office and retail space developed by First Gulf across the Coca-Cola Canada headquarters at 333 King Street East, The Globe & Mail Centre at 351 King Street East, as well as a further 500,000 sf planned within the district.
